Events & Benefits

WoW! We had an amazing day at our low cost vaccine clinic on March 14th. People started arriving half an hour before we were even registering animals, and by the end of the day we had provided vaccines, microchips, SNYP vouchers and dog licenses to over 60 dogs and cats!!

Volunteers and staff from the Berkeley East Bay Humane Society and Berkeley Animal Care Services all gave their all to make this a great and successful event. THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

THE NEXT CLINIC IS ON SEPTEMBER 26TH! Maybe next year we can increase the number of clinics to four…or more?

SUNDAY MARCH 14th NEXT VACCINE CLINIC – hosted by BAWF, Berkeley Animal Care Services and Berkeley East Bay Humane Society

After the success of our first low cost vaccine/microchip clinic in October we are planning our second one. To be held at BACS, 2013 Second Street in Berkeley (between Hearst and Addison) Hours to be announced. We need volunteers for all aspects of the event – set up, signing in clients, helping the vets, overseeing the animals and people as they wait, making sure forms and waivers are filed in, money taken, and clean up! It was a really fun, if exhausting event last time. Come and join us. If you are already a volunteer at BACS, please let Amelia know of your interest, if you volunteer at the Humane, let Katherine O’ Donnell know you’d like to help, and for everyone else – send us an email at info@berkeleyanimalwelfarefund.org.

THANK YOU!

AND – cookies for the human companions….

On April 4th/5th BAWF board member hosted a sidewalk sale to benefit the new animal shelter capital campaign outside her furniture store Slater Marinoff, which closed its doors after 20 years on 4th Street in Berkeley. Patsy, herself an avid rescuer of dachshunds at risk in shelters, has long been a supporter of animal related causes – the patio outside Patsy ‘s store was the site of countless adoption events for Home At Last and The Milo Foundation over the years, and the store was the venue for fundraising events which raised thousands of dollars for animal related issues. Last weekend’s sale raised $3,000. Thank you Patsy! And gratitude also to her husband Richard and her kids and grandkids who hosted the lemonade and cookie stand and handed over a chunk of five dollar bills as the day went on!
